Washington, DC: American Mothers, Inc.®, a national non-profit dedicated to honoring and supporting mothers at home, at work and in the world, announce details for its 81st Annual National Conference. The event will take place at The Willard Hotel in Washington DC April 24-26, 2016.

The theme of the 2016 conference is “#MomStrong” reflective of American Mothers’ focus on issues facing women worldwide, including health, nutrition, human trafficking and predatory crimes against children. It culminates on the night of April 26th with the American Mothers Gala, during which the 2016 National Mother of the Year® will be announced from state honorees from around the country. Attendees will also be recognized on Capitol Hill, where they will visit their Congressional delegations and host the American Mothers Congressional Reception honoring the 85 million American Mothers making a difference on the evening of Monday, April 25th in room SVC 212-10 from 5:30-7:30pm.

The American Mothers Conference keynote will be delivered by Elizabeth Smart on April 25 at 12:00pm at a special luncheon. Smart, who is also a bestselling author and new mother, works tirelessly to stop victimization of children and raise awareness for parents through The Elizabeth Smart Foundation.

“There’s never been a more important time for mothers to connect and celebrate motherhood,” says Dianne Callister, American Mothers national president. “For 81 years, American Mothers have changed lives and we are honored to welcome, Elizabeth Smart to Washington, DC and hear about her work as a mother and activist keeping families safe from predatory crimes. She exemplifies our #MomStrong convention theme.”
