The Puerto Rico Association of American Mothers, Inc., a non-profit organization established in Puerto Rico since 1945 and incorporated in 1973, will host the First State Conference for Mothers and the general public as part of their education goals to orient mothers and young mothers on topics of importance to daily living.
The event will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012, beginning at 8:30 am at the Conference facilities of the Puerto Rico Teachers Association, sponsors of the event.
Among the topics to be presented are: How to Avoid Falls, by Ms. Ivonne Santos, MSW, Supervisory Social Worker from Partners Business Services, LLC, a large housing provider in the Island.
On the financial aspect, Ms. Monica Cuevas, Team Executive Leader of MONEY House Bank will deliver on how to obtain a Reverse Mortgage. Following this topic Attorney Susan Bonilla-Flores has graciously accepted to present the topic of Wills.
Mothers are always cautious and to assist us all, a lecture on INTERNET Cyber Security for our Children will be presented by Ms. Lourdes Agudelo-Doval, Special Agent of the San Juan Cyber Crimes Investigations Group of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Many young mothers who work face the dilema of going back to work without their babies; that is precisely the theme to be delivered by Ms. Yaheli Concepcion from the San Juan LACTED Center, Back to Work...Without My Baby.
The members of the Puerto Rico Association of AMI, the largest Chapter in the Country, will be available to discuss the nomination process to participate in the 2013 Mother of the Year, Young Mother of the Year, and Mother of Achievement State and National awards. The AMI membership application will also be available for those that would like to join.
