My name is Susan Gill. I am a mom of three, wife and adjunct instructor at Lord Fairfax Community College (among other things)! I love spending time with my kids but make no claims that there aren’t times when I long for silence. My house is almost always full of chatter, bickering (yes, my perfect children squabble), dogs barking, doors opening and closing, neighborhood kids squealing, laughing, crying (yep, they do that too) and general noise. Yet, having been a Special Educator in the field of Early Childhood Education, I relish all of this noise. There are many parents that wait years for their children to even make eye contact with them or utter a word. Parents that would trade their right arm for the kind of chaos that I enjoy. I try to remember them every day and be thankful for the typical kid stuff that rolls in my world.
