Update from Oregon's 2011 Mother of the Year

As Oregon's Mother of the Year, it's been a busy month since our National Convention. What a great time we all had in Utah.  It was definitely an "Elevating" experience.

On Mother's Day, I had the privilege of speaking at the beautiful Grotto http://www.thegrotto.org/ for the Catholic Church. It is always an honor for Oregon American Mothers to be asked each year to give the Mother's Day address. My first parade of the season was for the Iris Festival held in Keizer, Oregon.  There were over 140 floats and everyone seems to always be happy to yell out "We love our Mom" when we go by.  I have been interviewed by a magazine for an article and it should be coming out soon.

On Monday, June 6th, I was honored to give the opening remarks in the House of Representatives.  Representative Michael Dembrow was our sponsor and has agreed to make this happen each year for our Mother of the Year.  It is a wonderful honor and great experience representing mothers and bringing the good works of mothers to the attention of many people. Hope you are all having a great summer too!

Blessings and hugs,
