Mrs. Maxine Carnett Grindstaff was born February 16, 1921 in Lebanon, Missouri. She came to Oklahoma with her parents and attended Oklahoma Baptist University. She married Wayne Taylor in 1941 and they were stationed in Lima, Peru for three years. In 1961 after Mr. Taylor’s death, she married Dr. W.E. Grindstaff, a Baptist minister and teacher. She has three married sons and five grandchildren. They travelled extensively in all states, Asia, Europe, South America, New Zealand and Hawaii. She received a BA from Peabody College in 1965, MA in 1973 from Adams State College and taught in Nashville, Tennessee, Petah Tikva, Israel, Questa, Eagles Nest and New Mexico Boy’s School. She was a Director of the Women’s Missionary Union of Santa Fe Baptist Association, VIce President of New Mexico WMU Board, Member of the New Mexico Baptist Convention Executive Board and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Community House in Red River. Maxine Carnett Grindstaff was also the owner-operator of Patrick’s Sport Shop in Red River.
