Inspirational moms honored for service to community, philanthropy and family
Washington, D.C. (March 1, 2019) – – Today, American Mothers, Inc. announced the 2019 State Mother of the Year and National Mother of Achievement honorees from across the U.S. These 51 women were selected for their contributions as mothers in their communities, workplaces and homes.
Among those being recognized are a Human Rights Award winner for her work dispelling misconceptions about Islam, a former corporate finance executive who educates children on financial literacy and investing, a state Senator who was the first elected official in her state’s history to give birth while in office, and a talk show host who spends her time leading community discussions about parenting. All 51 honorees were nominated by a friend, relative, peer, or by the Governor of her state
“For over eight decades our organization has honored mothers who work tirelessly and serve greatly,” said Connell Branan, President of American Mothers, Inc. “The women being recognized this year represent the diverse and complex nature of mothers who are using their maternal energy to make a positive impact in the world.”
These honorees will be recognized during the 84th National Convention of American Mothers, Inc. in Washington, D.C., April 28th – 30th, where they will also serve as ambassadors for the mothers in their state during visits with members of Congress. One honoree will be named the National Mother of the Year® during a gala fundraiser for the American Mothers’ “Golden Rule Grant Fund.”
Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, will keynote the Mother of Achievement Luncheon on April 29th at the historic Mayflower Hotel. A limited number of tickets are available to the public.
