The Barbara Thompson Gift is given each year to honor Barbara Thompson, the 1995 National Mother of the Year, for her continuing commitment to the goals of American Mothers, Inc. Funded and selected by her husband, retired federal judge Ralph G. Thompson, the cash award of $1,500 is given to support a needful and deserving mother, child or worthy cause, in keeping with the work and purposes of American Mothers, Inc.
This year’s Thompson Gift recipient is the Idaho Diaper Bank!
The Idaho Diaper Bank was formed in 2014 by Shawna Walz and her family, to address the silent crisis of diaper need in Idaho. Their mission is to ensure that every diaper-wearing child in Idaho has access to the diapers and diapering supplies that they need to remain clean, dry, healthy and happy.
