The Idaho Association of AMI has teamed up with the St. Alphonsus’ Women’s Healthcare Foundation in the following areas:
*Supporting the Idaho Diaper Bank with larger size diapers needed for families who live in poverty and low-income areas in southwestern Idaho.
*Supporting a Women’s Heart Caring for Women Conference – this is an all-day educational event aimed at increasing awareness of heart-related issues that affect women.
*Supporting 17 neonatal nurses who are focused on the care of the smallest patients.
*Supporting teenage mothers with continuing their education through the Booth Memorial Home.
*Supporting the Women’s and Children’s Alliance to provide students at an alternative high school counseling after being victims of sexual assault and/or domestic violence.
What’s Happening with the Idaho Moms:
*Wed. March 13 – Announcing Idaho’s 5th grade essay contest winner, Anthony Barbera in his classroom. This will be a surprise to him and to his mother. We will have Anthony read his essay to his mother and then celebrate with chocolate chips cookies for the class.
*Thurs. March 14 – Visiting and touring the City Light rescue mission for homeless women and children.
*Thurs. April 11 – Packing diapers at the Idaho Diaper Bank for delivery the following week to families in need.
*TBD – Touring the Women’s and Children’s Alliance – shelter for women and children from domestic violence and/or sexual abuse.
*TBD – Touring the NICU at St. Alphonsus Hospital and meeting the NICU nurses.
