This month, American Mothers, Inc. had the opportunity to connect with Dr. Mautra Staley Jones, 2021 National Mother of the Year®, to discuss motherhood, maternal energy, and the impact of our organization. Following our conversation, Mautra sent us this letter as encouragement for others to share their story!
Greetings!
I never imagined after being introduced to American Mothers, Inc. nearly a decade ago by the lovely, beautiful Lela Sullivan, that I would become the Oklahoma Mother of the Year® and National Mother of the Year®! What an amazing honor! My heart bursts with such pride and joy at how much I have grown as a mother over the past decade.
What I have enjoyed most about American Mothers, Inc. and its leadership is that I was welcomed into a warm, genuine group of mothers across the nation who wanted nothing more than to see each other thrive, live life to the fullest, and embrace the journey of motherhood with love, compassion, and great care. No judgment, criticism, or negativity, only love and a sincere desire to contribute to each other’s success.
I have been blessed to have the opportunity to share my story with so many, as well as learn from the awe-inspiring mothers who belong to American Mothers, Inc. We all have a story. Embrace your story.
This past decade has been full of learning and nothing short of tremendous. As I think about my own mom, grandmother, and all the mother figures who have invested in my life through the years, I encourage you to nominate someone who has been near and dear to you on your motherhood journey!
I never knew how much my life would change by joining AMI! I cannot thank American Mothers, Inc. enough for welcoming me into their network nearly a decade ago! Today, thanks to their investment in me and tremendous support, I am a proud mother of three, who has boldly and proudly embraced my story and been given a national platform to encourage and learn from others across our incredible nation.
